A drop-off at our Las Vegas yard goes faster when you know what you are bringing and how it is packed. We take scrap metal, cardboard, paper, pallets, plastics, and e-waste at 2915 Sunrise Avenue. Call ahead if you are unsure about a mixed item.
Start with an accurate material description
The name of an item does not always tell you how it should be recycled. A box of copper pipe fittings is different from a complete household appliance, even though both may contain metal. Similarly, cardboard from shipping is different from a package combining paper, plastic and foam.
Make a short list of what you intend to bring. Note any large, unusual, attached or mixed-material pieces. If you cannot identify the material confidently, be ready to describe its appearance, previous use and components to LVR.
Check the official list of recyclables
LVR's Recyclables page explicitly lists aluminum, brass, copper, cardboard, plastics, pallets, paper and e-waste. Its homepage also refers to tin and additional recyclable categories. This is a useful starting point, but it is not a universal guarantee for all grades, products or conditions within a category.
For example, e-waste is a broad term that can cover many electronic products. It is best to ask about a specific device rather than assuming every electronic item is accepted. The same care applies to plastics, treated wood, mixed packaging and complete machinery.
Prepare the load without creating a safety hazard
Keeping different materials separate where practical can make your visit more straightforward. Secure everything in your vehicle and avoid creating loose or shifting loads. Do not dismantle sealed containers, electrical equipment, fuel systems or other potentially hazardous components simply to separate recyclable parts.
If you are bringing materials from a workplace, check that the materials have been released for disposal or recycling through the appropriate internal process. You should also make sure the driver can accurately describe the load.
