Beyond Curbside Recycling: More Ways to Recycle in Las Vegas
The curbside bin in Las Vegas does not take everything. Scrap metal, business cardboard, pallets, and e-waste can come to our yard.

The curbside bin is only part of recycling in Las Vegas. Metal from a repair, business cardboard, and pallets can come to Las Vegas Recycling on Sunrise Avenue.
Why curbside rules do not cover everything
Municipal or private residential collection programs have their own accepted-material lists. Those rules should be checked with the provider that serves your address. A recycling center can have a different set of material categories and service arrangements.
Something your curbside bin will not take is not automatically a yard drop-off. Scrap metal, cardboard, pallets, and e-waste are the kinds of loads we handle. Call if you are unsure.
Think about metal separately
LVR lists aluminum, brass, copper and tin among its metal categories. A homeowner may encounter these materials in old fixtures or renovation leftovers; a business may produce them during maintenance or routine operations.
Instead of mixing metal items into household waste, identify the material and ask whether LVR accepts the specific pieces. Large or mixed objects, electrical equipment and appliances require extra confirmation because their contents can extend beyond recyclable metal.
Business materials deserve a plan
Cardboard and paper are common in offices, receiving areas and retail operations. Pallets can accumulate in warehouses and shipping locations. LVR's published recyclables page lists all three categories, along with plastics and e-waste.
Keep each material in its own pile. If a yard trip is not practical, ask about pickup or a container at your site.
Earth Month is a good time to check routines
April draws attention to environmental responsibility, but a useful recycling habit should survive beyond one campaign or event. Identify one recurring material stream that your household or business is not currently managing well. Then verify where it belongs and establish a consistent way to collect it.
Recycling helps recover materials for further processing, but reuse and waste prevention are also important. Keeping functional items in use, where practical, can reduce the need for new resources.
Frequently asked questions
Is LVR the same as my household curbside service?
No. Follow your trash hauler's rules for the curbside bin. Scrap metal, commercial cardboard, pallets, and e-waste are what we handle at the yard.
Can I bring something just because it is recyclable somewhere?
Not necessarily. Confirm that LVR accepts that material in its particular form.
