Commercial Scrap Metal Pickup in Las Vegas: How to Prepare Your Request

Commercial scrap pickup in Las Vegas starts with a clear picture of the metal, how much you have, and how a truck can reach it.

On this page

Scrap metal builds up in shops, warehouses, and maintenance rooms across Las Vegas. When the pile is ready to go, Las Vegas Recycling can pick it up so you do not have to haul every load to the yard.

Describe the materials clearly

Tell us whether the pile is mostly aluminum, copper, brass, or mixed metal, and whether plastic or wiring is still attached. Large machines and mixed items need a description so we know how to load them.

A good description should identify the main materials without overstating certainty. If your staff cannot determine a metal or alloy, say so. Include information about large or irregular pieces that may require special loading consideration.

Estimate the scale of the request

A provider needs to understand whether a request concerns a small accumulation, a one-time project or a recurring business stream. You do not need an exact weight to begin the conversation; an approximate count, volume or description of the storage area can make the initial request more useful.

Mention whether the material is already collected in a dedicated area or spread throughout the property. If you have photographs available, ask whether they would help LVR review the request.

Explain access and site conditions

For any possible pickup, location and access matter. Note whether the scrap is outdoors or inside a building, whether a loading area is available and whether a vehicle would face gates, limited clearance or restricted hours. Do not promise that LVR will supply particular loading equipment or labor for every request; confirm the service scope directly.

LVR's Services page separately lists load/unload services, but the details of an individual job still require discussion.

Prepare employees for collection

Before arranging any collection, decide who is responsible for identifying the material, authorizing its release and communicating with the provider. Keep unrelated waste out of the collection area and avoid blocking emergency routes. For sensitive or regulated equipment, follow your organization's required handling process.

After the initial pickup discussion, ask what information LVR will need next, what arrangements are available and how material acceptance will be confirmed.

Frequently asked questions

Can Las Vegas Recycling pick up commercial scrap?

Not without discussing it first. LVR lists both recyclable categories, but separate collection or handling may apply.
