A drop-off can be convenient when the material is manageable, you can transport it safely and the recycling center confirms acceptance. Individuals cleaning out a garage and businesses handling smaller batches of recyclable material may consider this option.

LVR's recycling yard is located at 2915 Sunrise Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89101. Before loading a vehicle, check the yard's current hours and ask about unfamiliar, oversized or mixed-material items. A trip to the yard should not depend on guessing whether a particular object is accepted.

When to ask about scrap pickup

Pickup fits a business pile, a big project, or a load you cannot haul. Tell us the amount and the site. We schedule around what the truck can safely take.

When you contact LVR, explain where the material is located, what it consists of and whether access is restricted. Information about loading conditions, bulky pieces and other site constraints can help the company discuss appropriate next steps.

Five things to know before you contact a recycler

A productive request answers several basic questions:

1. Material: Is it copper, aluminum, brass, mixed scrap or something else? 2. Approximate amount: Is it a handful of pieces or an ongoing accumulation? 3. Condition: Is the load clean, mixed with other materials or attached to equipment? 4. Location: Is the material at a residence, storefront, warehouse or jobsite? 5. Access: Can it be reached safely for loading or collection?

You do not have to know every technical detail. A clear description is better than vague assumptions, and LVR can clarify which additional information matters.
