Scrap Metal Recycling in Las Vegas: Aluminum, Copper, Brass and More
Las Vegas Recycling buys aluminum, copper, brass, and other scrap metal from homes and businesses across the valley.

Scrap metal comes from repairs, shops, and construction all over Las Vegas. Aluminum, copper, brass, and tin are not the same metal, and they are worth sorting before you recycle them.
Why identifying the metal matters
Aluminum is light and usually will not stick to a magnet. Copper looks reddish brown, and brass looks yellow-gold. Steel is often magnetic. These clues help, but if you are unsure, bring the piece in and we will take a look.
You do not need to identify every alloy perfectly before contacting a recycler. It is more useful to group obvious materials, describe anything unfamiliar and ask how LVR would like the load prepared.
Where common scrap metals can appear
Aluminum may come from certain frames, panels and other fabricated components. Copper may be present in pipes, wiring and mechanical systems. Brass appears in some fittings, valves and hardware. Tin can be part of certain manufactured metal products and coatings.
These examples describe where metals can occur, not a promise that LVR accepts every finished object containing them. Coatings, attached materials, electronic parts and fluids can all change how an item must be handled. When in doubt, ask first.
Preparing scrap metal for recycling
A useful first pass is to keep clearly different metals in separate groups and avoid mixing recyclables with ordinary trash. Do not dismantle electrical equipment, cut sealed tanks or open unknown containers just to recover metal; those activities may be hazardous and should be handled by appropriately qualified people.
For business loads, record the general type of material, approximate quantity and whether pickup may be needed. For household projects, even a short description and photographs can make an inquiry more productive.
Drop-off and scrap pickup in Las Vegas
Our yard is on Sunrise Avenue in Las Vegas, and we also pick up scrap. Drop-off is simple for a carload. Pickup depends on the metal, the amount, and access at the site.
Frequently asked questions
Can I recycle scrap metal left over from a home project?
We buy scrap from both residents and businesses, including aluminum, copper, brass, and tin. If other materials are still attached, describe the piece before you come in.
Is a magnet enough to tell what metal I have?
No. A magnet is one clue, not a complete identification method. If the material is uncertain, describe it to LVR rather than making assumptions.
